Ours is $350 in Southwestern Ontario – but she is awesome! I interviewed a few others who’s prices were $400+ and didn’t include travel or the rehearsal. The cost of the license is also in addition to the $350.

I live in South Western Ontario and we are using all seasons as well. We are getting married in 2014. Our total cost is $353.40 but we are getting the officiant we want. Of course we have to purchase the license on top of that up to 3 months prior but for now we just booked the officiant. When we booked our photographer, she gave me business cards for other officiants (and other vendors I might need as well) so maybe ask some of your vendors who they might recommend who might fit your budget.
Good Luck and hope you find someone who will fit your budget!!

Im getting married in Texas and its just under $300 and thats just for the ceremony (which cant be longer than a certain amount of time), no rehearsal, etc. I do get to literally write my own ceremony though, and the officiant will just read it.

Our Reverend was 400$ cash. He can do any ceremony you wish.

Yeah I hope so too… Just waiting to hear back.

We’re meeting ours tonight, I believe his fee is $400.
Since we wanted Jewish elements in our wedding our options were limited so we don’t have the option of shopping around.

He’s actually an officiant aha, it was really lucky! He wasn’t going to renew his license, but then his son got engaged and he wanted to be able to perform his ceremony and said he would do ours too. He also used to own the gelato place that my Fiance and I used to go for dates pretty much every week (: So lucky!

Yeah ours was in the $350+ range but he’s one of the most popular and has a brilliant sense of humour (very important to us) so we just decided he was worth it.

From what I gathered in BC…
There are officiants you can book for $100 + gas, but they will not personalize your ceremony. They will pretty much read out the fundementals that are required to marry a person in your province, and that’s that. No personal touches, words of encouragement, unity candle stuff.
We wanted something more personal, so with rehearsal and a few meetings, we booked our officiant for about $450. YES, it was expensive, but we saw people charging closer to $1000!!!

@birdy88: Crazy right?! I was the same way. Now we’re thinking we’ll just ask someone to officaite the wedding for us. Fiance got ordained for his cousins wedding…its free online…so thats what I think we will end up doing…having someone get ordained so they can marry us. LOL

Yeah, I’d certainly say thats luck and very cute with the backstory! How awesome.. maybe throughout our planning process we’ll find out a friend of a friend is actually an officiant. That would be best case scenario.. although not likely.

very true ..and well said putting it that way. And you are right ! Everything is so over priced… I think I wouldn’t be so cheap if we didn’t make min wage but even still lots of stuff is rediculously priced just because it has the word “wedding” in it 🙁
