We have decided to get married on Leap Day (Feb 29th, 2012) I do love that I can WED on WED :o) But, I am having a little bit of trouble coming up with a theme. I am thinking that I want to incorporate Teal (That is a color on the thyroid cancer ribbon and I am a thryoid cancer survivor) Also, I read that leap day oringinated in Ancient Rome. So we were thinking of giving the wedding a roman flaire. I’m just not sure how to do that. I need help, suggestions, comments. Tell me if you have any other ideas for a leap day wedding.. I’m at a loss haha. Oh, Also another reason for the leap day wedding my “cancer free” anniversary is March 1st.

Have you seen the movie LEAP YEAR? An Irish theme would be cute, not too much plaid or anything, if you want some IRISH inspiration there was a beautiful IRISH wedding on Style Me Pretty yesterday.

Congratulations on setting a date, and even more so on your cancer survival/anniversary! For Roman flair, I think of columns/pillars like the Pantheon. I also think of gorgeous paintings (like the Sistine Chapel), and rich golds. I think you can make a gorgeous mix of teal and gold, and incorporate roman accents throughout your wedding.
When I think leap day, I think of frogs. Lol. So maybe something cute and tiny, like a small teal frog incorporated only slightly…hiding on your invite somewhere, a little one perched somewhere in your bouquet or on your cake. Sort of like the Mercer Mayer books where a mouse was always tucked someplace in the photos. It can even be a little secret between you and your Fiance. 🙂

@indibee: Oh I did forget to mention our other color was in fact Gold! 🙂 I love those ideas. I will talk to him and see what he thinks might be a cute little atifact we could add in. I do love the frog idea, or maybe a four leaf clover…
Thanks so much for the replies and the great ideas 🙂
