Well, for my venue, I had to do a fast pick of my wedding day, and the only date that was available around the time that I wanted and before their wedding season began, was May 5th.
That is my uncles birthday, and the day before mothers day.
I’m kind of nervous about how people will react to this, especially my uncle. What do you think? Is it a big deal?

My Future Brother-In-Law & Future Sister-In-Law got married on her BIL’s birthday and there were no issues. Her Brother-In-Law was totally cool with it because he looked at it as a free meal and open bar. If your uncle is laid back, he probably won’t care.
I would suggest having your DJ make an announcement acknowledgeing his birthday and/or getting him a small birthday cake.

My wedding is also on an uncle’s bday and one of FI’s cousin’s bdays…if you tried to avoid every significant date for every single person…would you ever be able to pick a date?
I personally don’t think it’s a big deal AT ALL.

@PinkPinstripes:Wow! Thanks, that makes me feel so much better. But when I picked the date, I hadn’t thought about anything until I walked out of the building and remembered my uncles birthday.
I will do the whole getting a small birthday cake for him.

I really don’t think he’ll mind. Once you’re past a certain age, you kind of quit thinking your birthday is this big deal everyone should commemorate. Men especially tend not to care.
