As a fellow southerner who is used to the heat and humidity, I’ll say it depends. Depends on if it’s very shaded, near a body of water (which increases humidity) and what time of day. If you do it at/after sunset in a very shaded area, then maybe. I know for myself and Fiance, we are sweaters. If it’s not cooling off, have a few fans around and lots of water, we’d probably be miserable. I’m not familiar with the temps in SC, but I wouldn’t try it here in Alabama. Best of luck whatever you decide to do!!

I went to a June outdoor wedding last summer – which typically in WI is not that hot but that year it was and temps reached into the 100s. The men in suits were melting, everyone was fanning themselves. We all remember the heat! That was just the ceremony.
The reception was thankfully inside, most thankfully since in WI when temps get that high it usually comes with humidity and when the sun does set you don’t always get nice cool temperatures, you get a thunderstorm with downpours of rain. That is exactly what happened. My Fiance got soaked going to get the car at the end of the night.
Not sure how evening temperatures and conditions fair where you are located, but I have always been more comfortable at an indoor reception.

@DGB38: Way too hot in SC to have an outdoor reception in July. Pick a different time of year or have an indoor reception.
