- Wedding: March 2012
I finally have the time to sit and write the recap. I have been stalking the boards for a while and taking so many great ideas from here. I know my sanity would not have been possible with out my Bee’s! Thank you so much!
Let’s start with the Rehearsal Dinner. I don’t have any pictures to show, but I was exhausted by the time we got there. All of the family was showing up and I was so excited to see them and talk with everyone, but I really just wanted to take a nap. I was also stressed because I was not sure if both of my brother’s and sister-in-law would make it up the mountain pass and to the venue! They did eventually make it, only 20 minutes late 🙂
Dinner was so-so. Nothing was really ready when we got there and the food was not the best I have ever had, but it was edible. We did not have a tasting before hand, but food was not at the top of my list for things that needed to happen perfectly for the wedding.
After dinner we were going to have an actual rehearsal, but I could tell in my brother’s faces that they were so tired and did not want to do many wedding things. So, being the pleaser, I called off the rehearsal and only took my soon-to-be-wife, DOC, and preacher upstairs to the ceremony space for a quick run through. They asked all the questions they needed to and I felt fine when we left. I have always had an outlook that figuring out how to walk down the aisle in order is not rocket science; the important people got an itinerary for what they needed to know!
After dinner we went to my parent’s condo for drinks and talking. Apparently my mother was not pleased that we did not do a rehearsal and wanted to do one in her condo. My dad finally talked her out of it, thank goodness. My dad and I also “practiced” our father-daughter dance which consisted of me learning how to spin. That was it! (it all works out in the end, don’t worry) I talked with friends, family, and guests, then I finally went to bed.
Friday, March 1, 2012: Wedding Day! I wake up around 8:30AM and it looks like flurries outside, but I was not worried, because I knew I was taking pictures outside no matter what the weather! My FW left for her sister’s condo and my Best People came to mine. I didn’t really feel nervous, but I remember taking a shower and dropping everything! I broke the top off of my body wash, dropped my razor, and felt like I had butter fingers.
My wonderful Future Sister-In-Law did my hair and make-up.
Around 11:00AM the photogs showed up. Just as a side note, the wedding took place in the Colorado mountains near the Continental Divide. It was about 7,500ft high. It was hard for everyone to breahte, including the photographers!
Enjoy some getting ready pictures:
