I’m paying for hair for all my girls because I asked them all to have it professionally done.  They are covering their makeup because I gave them the option of doing it themselves, or using the MUA I hired for myself.  All of them opted to have their makeup professionally done and pay for their share of that.

The general consensus in my area is if you are requiring your BMs to get their hair and makeup professionally done, you should pay for it. If you are just giving them the option, it’s ok to ask them to pay for it.  Not sure about other places, though, I know this kind of etiquette can vary geographically.

Typically, the rules for hair and make-up are as follows:

1. You must offer to pay for BMs hair and make-up if you have requested that they get it done professionally and in a particular style.

2. If you are leaving the choice up to BMs whether to have hair/makeup done, and done in whatever style they want, then you can offer for them to use the services, at their own expense, if they so choose.

In general, if you expect your BMs to wear their hair a certain way, and to have it done professionally, you must pay up.  But, if you don’t care how they do it, you can give them the option to do it themselves or to use your hired services at their own expense.
