It’s a quarter mile–have a parade with the whole wedding.  It’s not a far walk at all–just one loop around a track.

What kind of shoes are the bridesmaids wearing?  I have some pumps that I only wear if my walking is going to be absolutely minimal.

How will they get back to their cars when it’s time to go home?  I’d be worried about not being in the mood for a quarter mile walk back to my car.

I’m getting married in New Orleans and we’re having an actual parade (with a brass band) from the ceremony to the reception venue. That’s common in New Orleans. My distance is also 3 blocks and I may even extend it a little (or just parade really slowly) so it’s not over too quickly. Honestly I can’t even believe people would drive 3 blocks. Three blocks!!!

@strawbabies:  A quarter mile is maybe a 10 minute walk if you walk very slowly.  Really?
