There always seems to be wedding party drama, even if you don’t intend it.  I honestly would wait until about 6 months before the wedding to pick the bridal party.  So much can happen between now and then.  Good luck!

I can tell you that 1 yr out, I didn’t not intend on any drama, as I’ve known my Bridesmaid or Best Man and Maid/Matron of Honor for over 5 yrs each,  (some since childhood!), but it happens.  Trust me.  Even if you don’t intend on it!

I would wait until 6 mos. out.  You could just ask the Maid/Matron of Honor like 1 yr out, as it seems to happen that Bridesmaid or Best Man are most dramatic.

I asked my girls right away (10months out).  I really wish I would have put more thought into it thought and would have waited a little.  Just realize that either way if you have dresses made or order them from a bridal shop you have to give time for the dress to be made and then have alterations done on each person.

I asked my girls right away. If there is drama, so be it. I just have to set my priority’s, and remember that it is a happy moment between me and my Fiance that we are sharing it with our friends and family members. Good luck to you.

I chose mine two years ago but, i didnt ask them until 6 months before the wedding. I am so glad i waited because things and people sure change over time. I ended up choosing different girls than i had originally anticipated.

Why not ask them now? I asked mine the day I got engaged. I knew who they would be, and if you do to why not ask them?

I asked my girls a month after being engaged, it was at Christmas so everyone was around which was perfect! I got them each a framed picture of just her and I and a Christmas card that said at the bottom “P.S. Turn this card around…” and on the back I had written “Will you be one of my Bridesmaids?” / “Will you be my Maid of Honor?” And when they opened them I made them read the card out loud so as they got to the bottom and then turned it over they were freaking out! It was a lot of fun ๐Ÿ™‚

If you already know who your girls are going to be, just ask them now. There’s no reason not to. It’s more important to not wait too long, rather than starting early. If they are family members and already know you are getting married, just ask them now! ๐Ÿ™‚
