We’re not booking transport. Our ceremony and reception are at the same venue so we just have to get from the hotel there and back at the end of the night – personal cars or cabs it is!

We’re doing a trolley, but we have it for an hour and a half so we’re going to drive around taking pictures on the way to the ceremony (and it was only $300 to rent!) If we didn’t want it for pictures we would have just carpooled over to the ceremony site. It’s not like the guests are going to see the wedding party arriving anyway, so why worry about looking cheap?

@liajune2013:  Do you have any friends with nice cars? That’s what we did: borrowed two friends’ cars. They were just ordinary family cars which were white. We cleaned them, and decorated them with tulle and ribbon to look like wedding cars. The friends acted as our drivers.

Alternatively you could decorate the van, or even hire an extra car and decoate that. Plain old car hire (as opposed to hiring a car + driver) should be under $100.

Oh, thank God! I thought I was the only one who did not want a limo… I was looking at prices and quite frankly it is overpriced… I will probably be in someone’s car or SUV…

My hotel’s about a mile from the venue, I think one of my BMs will be driving me over. ^^ Her car is nice but not fancy, I’m not especially concerned one way or another what sort of car I show up in.

If the weather is nice and the groomsmen feel like accompanying us (for safety in numbers in the city at night) we might even walk back after!

My parents drove me from their house to the church.

My Darling Husband rented a large black car and our best man drove him to the church, and then everyone got in one of the two rental cars to run around for pictures. It was about $85 per car for the day – well worth it.

The Bridesmaid or Best Man and Groomsmen just shuffled around in personal vehicles. And by personal vehicle I mean Darling Husband and my personal cars (almost all were from out of state) or a rental they had. We rented our own special vehicle.
