I need your opinions. I got married at the end of May, and I found out on my honeymoon that I wouldn’t receive my pictures for another SIX MONTHS. He told me that it would take 3-4 months to design my photo album, then 2 months to get the album in, so I will get my pictures then. Also, he isn’t editing any photos until after I approve of the album design, and he is only editing the ones in the album (about 100 photos, and he took 1400). I definitely wasn’t expecting every single picture to be edited, but I figured it would be more than that.
Now for the second/worst problem. I hate the pictures. They are not like what I saw in his portfolio, they look more like what I take with my cheap digital camera. He was obsessed with taking pictures at an upward angle, which is not so flattering to anyone.
I have been crying about this all day, because I was deciding between 2 photographers. A cheap one and a reasonably-priced one. I went with the cheap one. Worst mistake ever. Now I am so sad to even think about our wedding day because it makes me think about the beautiful pictures I will never have.
So, I need your opinion as to whether only 100 edited photos is reasonable (2 of my other friends got married last month and their photographer edited all of the pics, which they had on facebook about a month after), and that 6 months is INSANE to make a bride wait to get the pics.
Luckily, the other photographer I wish I had chosen was sweet enough to offer to do a Trash the Dress type shoot at our alma mater for free. Yes, I love her and have no idea how I didn’t pick her in the first place. I think this will make up for a lot of it, but I still will never have those pics with my bridesmaids, family, or friends. Advice?
