Hey there– I’m from that area, so I might be able to send a few recommendations your way. Just a few questions, first– where will you be getting married, and having the reception? And what made you choose Buffalo, if you’re not familiar with the area? There are a lot of really pretty places to go– congrats! ~Liz.

Nice! Delaware Park by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery is a really pretty place for pictures. The back of the art gallery has beautiful steps and columns, and is across from a nice, small lake that makes for really pretty pictures. It’s probably 10 mins or so, at the most, from your ceremony site. Another possibility is Chestnut Ridge Park, in Orchard Park– it’s closer to Hamburg, and will most likely have less traffic. Depends on if you want more nature or more cool architecture. Good luck! Hope this helped! πŸ™‚

Yeah, then Buffalo will probably be your best bet. Glad I could help!

Another idea, that’s a little bit trickier, but good if you like architecture, is to take pics in the theatre district– where the subway comes up above ground for a few blocks. Worth looking into.

@lovelylight99:  we did these photos before we were engaged.. but he proposed two days after we did them, so they turned into our first set. a friend did them, and our photographer’s package has an engagement shoot included, so we’ll have another one.

and yeah. boston is home. i’m really not a fan of buffalo, it’s too far from everyone i love. i like boston, it’s nice. i mean, i’m not a city girl. never have been. i live outside the city when i’m home. i could never live IN boston. my brother does, and he loves it. i need darkness. in boston, it never gets fully dark. know what i mean? boston is freaking gorgeous though. we have the best architecture… no offense to anywhere else. i’m probably biased. (:

good luck on your planning. do you know where you’re going to have the wedding? if you need help with vendors and things, i can ask around.

Glen falls in Williamsville is another really popular area to have wedding photographs done. Some others: Niagara Falls/Seneca Casino, Buffalo and Erie Naval Park, Buffalo and Erie Country Historical Society, same with Botanical Gardens and Delaware Park as mentioned.
