we’re using Carmen Alvarez.  the stuff on her site isn’t her most recent work, but she sent us a ton of recent stuff and gave us access to some full shoots so we could check it out.  she’s been phenomenal to work with so far – we feel like we’re in very good hands!  Carmen has a range of packages that start about $1500 and go up from there.  She was great about customizing a package that met our needs.  I’d highly recommend her.

We are using Terra Tabbytosavit here in SF.  Her site has some of her work, but what sold us was the work we saw when she sent us an entire wedding shoot.  You can really get a sense of a photographer’s work if they’ll let you see everything taken on one wedding day.  She had been an associate photographer for a little while and then she decided to start her own business about a year ago.  Her packages start at $1200 for about 6 hours of coverage.  Terra was also accomodating about customizing a package for us.

We are using John Kornachuck of http://www.theweddingphotographer.com — he is very reasonably priced and I love my engagement photos.  Our entire package was $1100.  PM me if you want a link to my e photos.

Depending on your taste and how important photography is to you and your fiance. Are you looking for more of the typical modern posed style or are you looking for more of a journalistic style of photography. Let me know and I will recomend a really great photographer. I have had several clients use them and they love it.

I’m using Jade Studio Productions. They’re a really comprehensive studio that also does videography, makeup and a personal trainer (not included in package). They have amazing photo albums that they bind themselves! packages start at 6,500.00.

If you’ve got the money to burn, I would highly recommend Bambi Cantrell, she was voted as one of the best wedding photographers in the world, and her stuff definitely shows it! But i think her starting price was around 8500.00.

Try http://www.JackHecker.com – he shot my wedding and I have worked with him a handful of times…he always puts out a wonderful product and is great to work with from a vendors point of view.

Happy planning!

My husband and I are both in the wedding photography business and being that he is behind the camera, finding someone we could work with and trust with our big day was IMPORTANT to us.

JOEL FLORY PHOTOGRAPHY  is who we went through and I HIGHLY recommend them.  They are a husband and wife team as well.

Here are our photos:  http://clients.joelflory.com/joannathan

And we paid $5,000 for 8 hours.  I thought they were well worth it.

We used Gene Higa (http://www.genehiga.com) for our wedding in San Francisco, California on September 6, 2008. Our package with him was 7K. It was supposed to come with one photographer’s assistant, but instead, he had another established photographer help and shoot the wedding AND have another photographer’s assistant. He was hilarious and fun to work with. We like him a lot and his turn around time for proofs online was something like 10 days and we got the unmarker printed proofs within 4 weeks or so.

I also love Jennifer Skog, Becker (Orange County, though). Augie Chang, Ann Hamilton.
