emmabell15:  I’m sorry you had this happen, Bee! I can definitely relate. I had a super small wedding and had to go with a last minute photographer, as the one I wanted had emergency surgery.

At first it seemed fine, she got some getting ready shots, and even captured my husbands first view of me. That’s where the good ends.

She stood in one spot the entire ceremony. You LITERALLY see the back of my head for every single shot up to when the ceremony ends. No shots of us looking at eachother, no shots of me looking at him lovingly. Just the back of my head.

I’m so sorry Bee!

I am so sorry this happened but try to remember it could be worse….in my previous marriage our photographer literally left the lens cap on the entire time….I got ZERO professional pictures.

You look beautiful by the way!

emmabell15:  Not that I have any vested interest in it, and I’m really sorry you’re so dissapointed in your photos, but did you look at a full wedding by them before booking? I just looked at their website, and the images are not that great. On top of that, their full 10 hour day wedding coverage w/ 2 photographers is only $899. That’s over $2k below industry standards, and honestly, cheap even at amature pricing for all day coverage. You mentioned that you felt the work was at the calibur of a 14 year old…but no real professional charges those prices.

I guess my point being, before you go blasting this company all over the internet because you don’t like their photos, I feel it’s important to recognize the image you put up isn’t that far off from what they’re displaying on their website as a sample.

emmabell15:  Well, the bad news is this is not a good picture and if it’s indicative of your other pictures, it’s a shame. The good news is, at least you have pictures. (trying to see the glass half full) That is a pretty cheap price for wedding photography and it better have said in the contract who was shooting your wedding! I agree that even at that price and if what you are saying is correct, that the pictures should’ve been better. In this example, all the had to do was move your entire group to the right (your mom’s left) and under that tree. Open shade is what it’s called. You canNOT take portraits like these in bright sunlight. And spotted at that!! I agree that if this is standard for all your photos, they owe you an apology at the very, very least. Even people with minimal wedding photo experience should know you don’t shoot in bright sun. I worked for a great wedding photographer 100 yrs ago and learned so much just by watching him. This is Photo 101 – no.bright.sunlight. If I were you I might go get some nice portraits done later with a GOOD studio.

starfish0116:  +1 to everything you said!  The photo OP posted looks EXACTLY like what you’d get at $899, and the service too, tbh.  Can’t expect Ferrari quality at a Honda budget…  If I were you OP, even though you can’t get the day back at all…. I’d hire a REAL pro to do a couples session so at least you have gorgeous photos of you and your hubby in your wedding garb…. beyond that, nothing you can do?

That really sucks you aren’t happy with your photos but I have to agree with PP’s. $899 isn’t even half of what I paid for ONE photographer. 2 at that price, I wouldn’t expect much better than what you got.

@Starfish – I was thinking the exact same thing, not only about what the OP paid, but the fact I saw group portraits exactly similar to the ones she posted right on their website. It’s so sad when bride’s hire a photographer because they are super cheap and then miraculously expect the photos to be better than the ones on their website.

What did you expect? $899 CAD/$682 USD. Yes, it was too good to be true.

I had a horrendous experience with the same company!! They confirmed everything with me three days before my wedding and at that point the balance was paid in full as per my contract. Then they cancelled by EMAIL at 9:30 a.m. the morning of my wedding, made no attempt to rectify the situation and I had to scramble!! I didn’t even realize they had sent me the email until 1:00 p.m. (my wedding was at 3:30!) because the photographer hadn’t shown up to take photos of me getting ready yet and I was getting concerned. Because seriously who checks their emails on their wedding day?!?! Absolutely NIGHTMARE experience and if it weren’t for a friend of a friend I wouldn’t have any wedding photos at all.

Oh no !! 🙁 this is the worst!! I think personally I would still demand a refund then go and try to recreate some of the photos with another professional photographer.. get a recommendation. I know it won’t be the same but it would be something.
