I was a bridesmaid in a wedding in Sacramento where Artistic Wedding and Event Planning was used on the wedding day.  We were happy that we could all be BMs and not worry about anything but being there for our friend on her big day.  Kelly did a great job so my Fiance and I hired her as well for our upcoming wedding.  So far we are very pleased with the help and we’re  less stressed.  We hired her for a  package that we created together  for $875.  HTH!

For our wedding, I did all the planning. I’ve always enjoyed helping out with other weddings, and found it to actually relieve my stress from work. If you can handle the extra responsibilites, I’d say do it yourself and/or delegate to friends. Otherwise, hiring someone might be the way to go so that you can spend more time on other tasks. 🙂 You can find planners who charge hundreds, thousands, or even free. Just be sure to compare apples to apples.

are you looking for a day-of coordinator, or actually a planner?  Im using a planner/designer who is also doing all my coordination and its soooo nice.  I knew i could plan it all myself, but honestly, i would just make myself nuts.

The planner we hired met with us several times, heard all our ideas and all about us as a couple, about our families, etc. and build a design around us.  it was amazing to see it all come together and unfold.  she also did out budget, which was more help than i ever could have thought (i mean, how hard could a budget be, right??) but she allocated money where she knew we would get the best bang for our buck.  she also knows so many other fields of the wedding industry and helped design our flowers (knowing what was in season and what would work well with her deisgn), designed our invites (they also have a graphic design company), designed our menu (used to work in hotel catering and for a catering company), i mean, this girl has done everything, its so awesome!

basically, our wedding will be more “us” than if we had planned it ourselves.  everything is so cohisive and she has done such a wonderful taking all our ideas and working them in.

anyhow, enough raving.  Her name is Jess and she and her team travels throughout California/west coast for weddings all the time.  her company is Moira Events.  GL!

Ms. Puppyjacks – Good for you – By far this will be the best investment in your wedding. Mr. Wine-Oh and Myself both agree that the event designer/planner extroidinaire Sally Steele allowed us to enjoy our wedding. If you hadn’t already hired one -I would highly recommend her.
