I wasnt planning on using a wedding planner but Im so nervous to plan our wedding myself with fear of forgetting important details, budgeting etc. I was thinking about hiring a wedding planner if i found someone at a reasonable price. I was wondering if anyone who used one thinks its worth it. thanks girls

I’m using one for a fairly low-key 100 guest wedding; but I won her services in an auction and paid less than $300; I probably would not have had one if it was over $300 because for me it wasn’t a priority. So far, she’s been great, which I wasn’t really expecting seeing that she isn’t getting directly paid to plan the wedding.
When I started the wedding planning process, I did a pro/cons list for a wedding planner/coordinator, and the list turned out fairly even. Eventually I decided that I wasn’t going to pay the $600, which is the going rate in my area, for a day of coordinator, and forged ahead with plans to utilize my caterer and venue contact as much as they would allow me to in a coordinator type role; but getting a good deal on her services definitely lowers the stress level.
I’m not using her for planning purposes, more for organizational purposes and so I have someone there who will run the day so I don’t have to worry about it. I love that I can bounce ideas off of her and talk all things wedding, because, in my case, my close family and friends, and even fiance grew tired of hearing wedding stuff 6-9 months before the event. She’s also been huge in helping me plan the logistics of the day, weeks prior, and has proofed all of my paper, and given me some fantastic ideas and referrals.
