I’m trying to figure out the wording for my wedding program. Our situation seems complex…
-Father of the groom is deceased
-My grandmother is alive but cannot attend due to health
-All other grandparents are deceased
-One groomsman cannot attend due to being deployed overseas.
I’d like to recognize all of these people. The father of the groom is a must. Does anyone have any ideas how to word this???

@merlr: you could use the time-honored cliche’d words of “in remembrance of” for all those who are deceased and “in honor of” for those who are alive but can’t come. Just give it it’s own section and divide the two by a line or something.
hope that helped!!

“We remember those who cannot be with us here today” and then list their names? You could also say something about how even though they’re not physically with you, they are there in your hearts or something like that. Good luck!
