- Wedding: Dorset, UK
So, we got our wedding photos back so thought it was time to do my wedding recap.
We got married on the 22nd March in the New Forest in the UK, we were hoping for spring sunshine but we got grey skies all day but we didn’t care as it didn’t rain!
I stayed at my parents house the night before, getting ready with them and my bridesmaids was lovely. My Dad and I had a very special ride to the venue, holding hands and chatting, keeping my nerves at bay.
Once I got to the venue I started to get nervous, the walk down the aisle was nerve wracking but I just kept focused on my soon to be husband. I nearly cried many times through the ceremony but didn’t (expensive makeup lol!), we laughed, it was perfect.
We exited and did confetti and cut the cake straight away so people could have it with welcome drinks, not traditional but it was how we wanted it. I loved our cat figurines, and mutual weirdness topper. Our cake was lemon sponge with pina colada frosting. It was amazing.
Then we went for a spin in our car to have 30 mins on our own to regroup, eat our cake and have photos.
It was so much fun chatting to our guests. We only had 46 day guests and even that was hard to make sure we spoke to everyone.
We did Speeches before dinner so we could get them out of the way. I had one of my bridesmaids do a speech as I wanted to but knew I would be too nervous and I wanted a female voice.
Dinner was fab but I barely ate I was too happy and excited.. After dinner we greeted evening guests and then did our first dance (Can’t take my eyes off of you by Muse) followed by our 2nd dance (Beer by Reel Big Fish) a nod to husband taking my last name (which I love!!!).
We danced the night away. It was so much fun. I barely drank which I was grateful for as it meant I remembered it all and the day x didn’t zoom by too much.
So here it is, lots of photo spam from our perfect day. It went without a hitch. I was so pleased with how my DIY turned out and how everything came together after all my planning.
