Invitation dilemma here — to my reception, I’m inviting my work team (2 girls) at my office, plus 2 other women at my office (one former boss and one dear friend). There is another girl who is technically part of my work team and she lives 1.5 hours away. She used to be at my office but we really don’t talk much about personal stuff outside of work. However, if she finds out that I’ve invited the other girls to my wedding reception, she may feel hurt. Should I invite her?
*And* should I invite my new boss — I’ve only been working with her for about 3 months, and she’s a remote boss. Again, if this one girl who lives 1.5 hours away is invited, I know she will mention the reception and my boss may feel left out. Its a low probability event that my boss would show up, but if she did, I wouldn’t be super comfortable knowing she is there. I just hardly know her, and having a boss around takes things to a different level.
I should add that we have plenty of room and invites to invite more people, so it’s not a space issue.
