Ive been thinking about having the reception like at a restaurant. The place i work they are opening a restaurant and ive asked about if they are going to host private parties/functions and they said yes but they said that the city wont allow them to have music (no DJ) or dance floor. Im thinking about doing this as a way to save money. So do you think no dancing or a DJ would be a bad reception? How do you all feel about this idea?

I think it would be fine… more like a celebration dinner. 🙂

If you have good food, and perhaps other activities, I think it’d be fine! Like maybe games or a slideshow. By no music, does that mean like no iPod music either? Cause if you can clear the space, you could have dancing with iPod music (unless that’s kinda lame…). I think guests might not miss the dancing if there are lots of other fun/interesting/funny things to focus on.

well they are going to play music since its a restaurant but i meant like they (the city code) wont let us have a professional DJ.
