Please help. I need to find a venue that can sit 200 guests inside ( no tents please) and we can bring in our own alcohol. We want to have the wedding on 12/1/12 in the Philadelphia area but can’t find any BYOB that don’t have a site fee of over $5000! Any suggestions would be helful. Thank you!!

From the viewpoint of the facility, letting a rentint to a large party where people will BYOB is a HUGE liability. I’d be amazed if you could find somewhere.

@red_rose:I think I might not have explained myself very well. We will be supplying the alcohol to the caterer and they will sever. We just want to be able to bring it in ourselves since we want a different selection of beer and wines and only a few options for hard liquor.

Top of the Tower, the Brossman Center, La Luna in Bensalem, and Milestone in West Chester are a few. There are many more, you just have to look around a bit. Also, these are on the “lower” end price-wise.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Check your local VFW, lions club ect, if your bartender is insured, it should not be hard to find.

@tean272: Honestly, it comes down to looking at a lot of venues and emailing them to see if they are BYOB/let you supply your own liquor. You can check here on the “Vendors” site, WeddingWire.com, and the Knot.com, but one of the best places has been Partyspace.com. They are just for Philly venues.
What I usually do is vaguely phrase my question. Something like:
“Hi! My name is RayRay. I am getting married in August 2012 and am interested in your venue for my wedding reception for 120 people. Do you allow BYOB? Would I be able to provide my own alcohol for the event? Please let me know! Thanks!”
and “BCC” it to a list of venues. That way, you don’t have to send the email out individually. It saves a lot of time.
(Feel free to try to ask all of your questions in ONE email, though. So you may also want to see if they could accomodate the # of people you are expecting. Honestly, some of these venues will take FOREVER to get back to you. Case in point, I sent an email to a place in December, completely forgot about them, and got a reply back in MARCH!)

Check out the Old Mill in Rose Valley (near Media). http://connercatering.com/oldmill/
They seat 250 inside their beautiful ballroom and have 2 courtyards– one tented, one open– and they are BYOB. Feel free to message me if you want any more details- it’s my venue!
