If you are having any showers, yes you will need a registry as showers are gift-giving events.

You can always register for upgrades, stock up on sheets & towels, or any fancy kitchen gadget or small appliance you’ve been eyeing.

If you decide not to register, most guests will either gift you cash or just sort of go on their own and get you something they think you will like.  In this case, if someone does offer to host a bridal shower for you, it would be a good idead to either decline their offer or ask them to host a tea or luncheon instead.

@melissa.geary.313:  Nope. You don’t have to register. When people ask just say you have everything you need.

Alternately, I just found this registry site called “SoKind” where you can “register” for people to donate to your favorite charity, volunteer in their community, teach you how to do something, take you on double dates… really anything! It might be fun if your guests are the kind that are going to be totally annoyed if you don’t have a registry but you really don’t need typical registry stuff.

@melissa.geary.313:  I would make a small one, only because some people don’t like giving money or gift cards, and that way you will get exactly what you want instead of something ugly or useless.
