I love seeing that people have purchased items from our registry! So exciting! Even if it is my parents purchasing most of the stuff at this point 😛

What kind of stuff do you guys need?

Here are the things that we have on our registry that are must haves for us:

Formal China

Casual china

Formal stemware

Formal and casual flatware (we registered for a set of Nambe flatware and it’s so nice that it can double as formal but it isn’t  sterling so it won’t be difficult to clean and maintain)

Kitchenaid (we actually already own this, so it’s not in our registry but if you like to cook and bake, you must register for this!!) and attachments

Knife set (we went with a wusthof 18 piece knife set but if you’re not sure what you need, go into a Williams Sonoma or sur la table and ask totalk to someone about various knives and there purpose so you can determine what is the best set for you. At WS I think theyll actually let you cut with different knives to see which brand feels best for you)

And we have lots of other little odds and ends too. Whenever I see something I like and might want, I put it on there 😛 happy shopping!!

Do you guys have luggage? We registered for that and my family bought it for us early so we could take it on our honeymoon!

How about serveware? I was thinking of future holiday entertaining when doing our registery. Roasting Pan, paltters, chip and dip servers, large bowls for serving salad or vegetables, etc.

Yayyy! It’s so exciting to see that things have been purchased off of the registry! I had invites for two showers recently go out, so I’ve seen a few more things being taken off.

As for things missing on your registry, without seeing it, it’s hard for me to know what you might need. For Fiance and I, we won’t be living together for a significant amount of time before we get married (mainly due to us being in a LDR), so we’re needing quite a few things.

The big things we talked about were place settings. We aren’t registering for formal china, but we are registering for nicer everyday plates that we’ll use when we have guests. We ended up registering for 16 sets. This way, if we’d ever entertain our immediate family, we’ll have enough settings for the next 10-15 years, at least. Plus, things break.

We also found out that our flatware can also be purchased in the basic 20 piece sets, so we added two of those on, as well. Once again, things go missing, entertaining family…it made sense to us.

One of my friends put just about anything you can think of on their registry…including toilet plungers. I feel that’s something we can take care of on our own, but whatever floats your boat!

Speaking of other registries, if you have any friends who are also getting married now, or have in the past two years (Bed, Bath, and Beyond and Macy’s keep your registries up for two years after the wedding date), you may want to look at theirs. That helped us with ours. We got a few ideas from other people’s lists.

Extra towels or bedroom linens are always nice too — even if you have some, might be time for an upgrade.

Also, I second RhubarbPie’s idea about Wusthof knives, but I decided to register for them a la carte. The set is great to save money if you’re buying them for yourself, but it’s very expensive for a guest to buy as a set ($800+), you may be more likely to receive them individually — a single one retails in the guest-friendly $100 range. Just make sure you register for a block, too!!
