MrsPhishBee:  We registered at Crate and Barrel and Bed Bath & Beyond. My favorite items were our Wusthof knives, Cephalon stainless pots and pans, Shark vacuum, Nespresso machine, and my wine glasses from Crate and Barrel that Olivia Pope uses on Scandal!

I think three places is a good maximum. We ended up having to purchase a lot of things that had multipe sets. For example, we only got 2 place settings of dishes and 1 of silverware. I ended up returning those and buying a full set of 8 places settings and silverware that were less expensive than the ones we registered for.

kimmo416:  Ahhh! This was my biggest fear! The Bed, Bath & Beyond lady assured me that place settings are a “classic” gift and it’s rare for them not to all be purchased off the registry. This is literally my favorite thing on the registry and as many times as I’ve repeated the sentiment “I’ll be happy just to be married, even if we don’t get a single gift”….I really want those plates.

MrsPhishBee:  We actually planned to register both at BB&B and a department store, but after spending 3+hours with the fancy registry gun, we couldn’t possibly think of another thing to register for…even though the BB&B salesperson seemed concerned that our list wasn’t long enough! My favorite thing on the registry is the place settings…we are hoping to get the Noritake colorwave (raspberry color). Fiance is really excited about the new cookware, but I dont’ remember the brand (I don’t cook, so it didn’t really make a difference to me!)

We registered at the Hudson’s Bay Company (a big Canadian store with everything + online shopping is available) and we also registered at another store called Urban Barn which is in like every Canadian store.. in the end we got nothing from Urban Barn (no one wanted to travel to a smaller store) and lots of things from HBC or just cash/cheques/gift cards.

Our favourites:

1. a Saeco espresso maker – we bought it with gift cards

2. Kitchen aid stand mixer – so good for things like whipping cream, meringues… life…

3. Kate Spade vases

4. Gel top mattress cover – sooo comfy!

5. Vera Wang plate setting + cutlery + Spiegelau wine glasses- we haven’t used it yet but we’re waiting to move to a bigger house 🙂

6. Honeymoon massages & excursions! We had a massage + exfoliation + milk bath in this jungle hut in Costa Rica… so dreamy! We also went surfing and ziplining! Unforgetable..

I’m not huge into crystal things as they are pricey and there are lots of non-crystal vases and wine glasses which are just as beautiful.

I’ve also seen people register for DSLR cameras or for guests to contribute to a beautiful wedding album through thier photographer!

We registered at 3 places: Macy’s (for kitchen electronics, towels, new mattress topper/down comforter and pillows), Crate and Barrel (for everyday dishes, cookware, serving pieces, kitchen tools), and West Elm (for sheets/duvet cover, bathroom accessories, and some serving pieces). So far people have purchased a lot from our Macy’s and Crate and Barrel and our West Elm registry is untouched… probably because there aren’t a lot of brick and mortar stores and it’s not too common, but I love their linens, so I went for it!

My registry tips:

-Register for Le Cruset! I love our dutch oven

-Register for linens for the bed you’d like to have. We have a queen, but all the linens are for a king, because that’s what we want to get when we move

-Register for a good food processor

MrsPhishBee:  We registered at http://www.myregistry.com, it’s awesome! It allows us to register at all stores without the store having an actual registry like (Canadian Bee here) Canadian tire, home hardware, home depot, amazon, ebay, stokes, and any other store that has a website. It’s great for our new home too, Fiance registered for a bunch of building materials and some new tools we need to work on the house. To me, it was practical.

I LOVE my kitchenaid stand mixer and use it all the time. I love baking!

I use my Keurig every day as well.

We haven’t had our wedding yet, but we had 2 showers thrown for us and got lots of very generous gifts. It also helps that we just bought a house and ALL of our stuff was used hand me downs, it’s nice to have new nice things in our new home haha.

Ladder… I know it’s kind of random, but it has come in SUPER handy… especially with home renos.

MrsPhishBee:  We registered at Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s and Macy’s. Our favorite things: Kitchenaid mixer (for sure!!), Henckels knife block, Circulon pots/pan set, our dinner plate set (3 sets so we could actually host DH’s family), a nice set of bath towels, and my pyrex mixing bowls with lids. I love to bake and cook so I upgraded a lot of our kitchen stuff, if you’re into baking Silpats are awesome and I use them all the time!

We registered at crate and barrel and bed bath and beyond. We liked the dishware and serve ware at crate and barrel better so we registered for all of them. (all the plain white square/rectangle dishes and serves are) We also got our bedding from there which we love. From bed bath and beyond, I would say our favorite things are the kitchen aid stand mixer, the keurig, and our dyson vaccum. If you want good pots and pans, I highly suggest caphalon. We have had ours for a while and LOVE them!

MrsPhishBee:  We registered at three different stores: Macy’s, Crate & Barrel, and Pottery Barn (we are moving to a bigger place shortly after the wedding, so we wanted to take advantage of the completion discounts to buy new furniture).

I literally just finished our registries, so no one’s bought anything yet, but the items I’m most excited for are our flatware and ceramic brie baker from Crate & Barrel, new pots/pans and KitchenAid mixer from Macy’s, and new dishes from Pottery Barn. I also registered for some little items that have worn out over time that we need to upgrade/replace: new dish towels, spatulas/ladles/tongs/etc. Lastly, I put some “fun” items on there that we’ll definitely use but would never have bought for ourselves, like a fancy ice cream scoop from Crate & Barrel (I think it’s like $20).

Registering was super stressful at first, but once I started the process, I found myself enjoying it a lot more.

MrsPhishBee:  there’s a crate and barrel around me but none of my family but I ended up getting a lot of my items purchased by people who live out of the area and purchased them online so there is hope if you really want it! Also, etsy does registries?!! I’m so bummed I didn’t know that!!

We did BBB, Target and JCP. And actually, I would 95% of our items were all purchased.

My faves were the Keurig, silverware sets, Calphalon pots and pans, and it was nice getting replacements for our old kitchen utensils we had over the years. Those all came from BBB.

JCP was nice to get a new comforter, a couple new sheet sets, and towels. However, their registry lists were not often updated when someone purchased something so we got duplicates of many items. It wasn’t bad to return them all, but still.

Target was mainly the miscellaneous stuff we didn’t ask for other at the other 2. It was a lot more decor items there, like shelves, picture frames, etc. I’m excited to get them all up and make our home feel more like us, and not just what he always had living there by himself.
