Shkragoldfish: Thanks!! I was worried it would be confusing for some of the older guests, but I guess if they also have the option of going to the store, that would work as well. So you didn’t just register at myregistry, but you also kept your original registries at the store, correct? And did you have to manually update which items had been bought?

annainweddingland: For macy’s, williams sonoma, and a bunch of other places, you can register online or in the store, and then sync those registries with myregsistry.com. After that, your myregistry list will update automatically to any changes you make on those registries and to any purchases that your guests make. You can also add items directly to myregistry.com that are from stores/sites without registries or where you don’t register and then guests can click on them at myregistry.com, buy them, and mark them as purchased on myregsitry.com.
You don’t have to manually update. The only updating I did was when guests bought and sent us items, but didn’t make sure the store noted it on our registry. Or when I registered for one gift at maybe 3 different places and a guest bought it from one- then I’d go to the other registries to remove it from the list (so we didn’t get duplicates), but that has nothing to do with myregistry.com.
Myregistry.com doesn’t have to change anything about how you register or how your guests buy gifts. If you’d like to list your macy’s or other type of registry on your website or tell older ppl abt those registries when they ask, that’s fine.

MrsPhishBee: I did our registries at Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target and Kohl’s. Fiance went with me to get his must haves (TV at Target that he said 95% his uncle will buy us) and a few electronics for the living room (I am clueless with electronics and TV mounts, speaker systems etc….) everything else I pretty much did online while we watched a movie. I asked his opinion about bedding and let him pick it out and he knows nothing about the kitchen so I picked out all kitchen stuff but he gave his opinion on dishes.
My First shower is February 21 so I have really received items yet.
My favorite I tem we registered for is a Dyson,
My Favorite item I’ve received so far is my Kitchen Aid Ice Cream maker attachment. (My Boss gave it to me for Christmas) all I had to do was go to BB&B and let them know they updated my registry to say it was fulfilled.
