I would try etsy first. Amazon has some neat stuff as well. I also really like some of the stuff I find at Home Goods

I’m using http://www.MyRegistry.com, which lets you register for stuff from any store, so I’d definitely recommend it if you plan on choosing lots of little stores. Some places I’d recommend are ZGallerie, Anthropologie and the MOMA design store… especially MOMA, their website is AWESOME!

It depends on your style and budget. For a mix-it up registry we did jonathan adler designs. A lot of the pieces are too expensive, but there are good lamps, vases adn picture frames within a reasonable price range.
