Not to sound selfish… but what is the point of the wedding registry if people don’t get you anything off your registry for the wedding shower??? Do you still have the opportunity to receive gifts at the wedding?
I promise I’m not selfish, just in love with my well put together registry… and I was hoping for some home decor!

hahaha. Yes hopefully people will still buy you something off the registry. I would discreetly say something to your mom and Maid/Matron of Honor about how much you are excited to get some of the things off your registry. Maybe they will convey the message to your friends and family that you have registries.
Also, some registries give you deals like 10% off items remaining on your registry. I know you weren’t really asking – what is the point, but that is a benefit.

A lot of people buy smaller things for the shower and then bigger things for the wedding it seems.

futuremrs_ No actually I did hear that the remaining items left on my target registry I would get 20% off, which is an excellent deal and I sure will take advantage of that after our wedding 🙂 Thanks for the replies!

As a guests to many weddings, I use the registry specifically for the wedding gift. If there are showers, and other things, I tend to buy them something on my own.

A lot of people think that the shower is for other things besides registry items–smaller, more girly, personal items and domestics. But don’t worry you’ll probably get stuff off of your registry soon enough 🙂
