I said I would never get married. That obviously went out the window.

Wear a veil… STILL DON’T WANT TO, but giving in (as I slump in my chair just thinking about it)

I didn’t want bridal attendants/bridesmaids.  Until I got engaged!  Now, I have 5.

@hecallsmelove:  what about a fascinator with birdcage? That’s where I’m leaning towards.

Carry a bouquest/have attendants carry bouquets. I honestly think they look ridiculous, even when gorgeously arranged. Why do we need to carry flowers? Do you ever just carry flowers in real life? What is it supposed to do — make you look youthful and romantic? And the whole “but what will your pictures look like if you don’t have flowers” argument is just nonsensical to me — again, where did this convention come from? ……And yet, my florist received her second deposit today. Sigh.

Have my BMs and Maid/Matron of Honor wear the same dress…I always thought this was mean…until we were at Alfred Angelo the other week and I had an epiphany about what it would look like if they all wore the same dress that I love (thankfully they all loved it too).

Walk down the aisle to “Here Comes the Bride”… until we hired our bagpiper and listened to a sample of him playing it, and then I fell in love 🙂

@bythebook:  I get what you’re saying!  I’m not really a flower person.. so to pose with them and carry them as sort of an ornament??  While everyone is staring!  I just seems so awkward.  I’d feel way more comfortable if I was carrying a coffee mug or a grocery bag, at least I’ve done that before!  I looked into other options (fake flowers, brooch bouquet, a clutch) and nothing sounded better.  So flowers it is!  Sigh is right.

@mwitter80:  Me too! But when you know it’s right, you know.

– Have diamonds in my wedding band. But when you know it’s right…I will be the proud wearer of a 5 stone bezel set band.

– Obsess about small details. But when you know they’re right…I have about 20 pounds of old sheet music that I have been poring over to find the ones that are love songs, or have pretty phrases in them, so I can use them for my decor.

I said I wouldn’t spend an arm and a leg on my wedding.  I claimed to be a frugal bride and that I could pull off a fabulous wedding for cheaper than the national average.  Then I realized I live in Massachusetts…
