Do the reshoot! I was in the same situation as you with the pictures I recieved from my photographer of just Darling Husband and I. After over a year of looking at them and not having a single picture of us of our wedding day hanging in our leaving room, we decided to do a reshoot. We went completely out, new photographer, I hired someone to do my makeup and hair (way better this time), I bought the bouquet I orignally wanted that my florist messed up, and Darling Husband rented a tux and looked so much better in! I absolutely love my photos. Sure, I know their not from my wedding day, but that doesn’t bother me. I’m taking pictures with the same man I married, and these photos actually captured the love we have for one another way better then the ones that were taken from my original photographer.

Sure, you won’t get the same feeling as you did on your wedding day, but that can be a good thing. You won’t feel rushed, and you get the time to take the pictures you want. So have fun and go all out in you have it in your budget.

friend of mine was also really disappointed in her wedding pics. They did a Trash the Dress (without really trashing it since she planned to donate it). They didn’t recreate the wedding day pics to a T – no flowers, no hair and make-up, husband just wore a nice button-down shirt and pants instead of renting a tux. The pics were gorgeous and they looked so happy because everything was much more laid back.

I’m so glad to hear this..I’m sitting here with a throbbing head – I just stopped sobbing after getting our photos back. Not a single posed shot of us (which of course I knew, but I was hoping). There are so many shots I wanted and discussed with her that she didn’t get.

I already knew we wanted to get dressed up and take pics, but this has confirmed it. Our wedding day was a mess anyway, and I was really ill, so I think there will be plenty of sentimentality to them. And photos are very important to me.

    Thanks for this!

jba1 :  That’s great! I’m so glad this worked out for you! My husband and I actually have only one decent photo of us from the wedding, so I undersand why you wanted to do a re-shoot. I’m glad that you had a wonderful time and got some great photos.
