I’m kinda at a loss for what to do about my wedding ring…
I have a very basic solitaire. What I had planned on doing was getting a wrap (you know, where it adds on sidestones and a wider band). However… my engagement ring has just barely too wide of a band to do a wrap with. Which means it has to get reset for me to have my wrap.
So here’s the problem:
Getting it reset + a wrap starts to get expensive. Like, could almost pay the mortgage this month with it sort of expensive. I don’t want to start out our marriage spending way too much on things. Plus (this may be silly) but I don’t want to be without my ring while it’s getting reset!
I like really simple sparkly wedding bands too. I tried on some at Shane Co that I liked, and they’re not very much (ones I liked were ~300). They said we can trade in later and so long as it’s at least double the price (which a wrap would be) I get the full purchase price as a trade in (so my $300 band would pay for $300 of the wrap).
So, should I go for the wrap I originally wanted (and spend a lot, and part with my ring) or go with a sparkly band and trade it in for a wrap for our anniversary next year or something? Thanks!
