How can another thing go wrong?
First I found a ring at this shop and fell in love.
everything about it was everything I could of ever imagined and was perfect.
then I took a photo and asked if I should put a deposit down or make full payment next week.
she wrote down the ring and price and told me to just come in next week as the rings are made to order.
so I come back next week and the ring is gone! The photo is blurry amd you cant see the setting and the style she wrote down, well it wasnt a number. Also they have no sales records!
So in a panic 3 weeks to my wedding I decide to cut my losses and order another more expensive ring as to get something similar thats the price.
Fast forward now 10 days to my wedding and still no ring. Its been delayed a week.
The owner told me that he imports the ring and now I find this ring is being made local, obviously not from the same supplier as the one I saw in shop.
My partner rang and they said the delay was due to cracking and they have ordered more metal mix or something.
I think the design in shop is too fragile to be done by hand and I have this horrible feeling that I have been had.
I feel that the they may decide to make it thicker or that the ring will have issues from being rushed.
after crying most this morning im pretty prepared to pull the pin as I just dont trust these guys.
the wedding ring is a big deal because im going to be stuck with it as the priest does all these blessings on it etc. And is a huge symbol. A replacement after the day is not really an option.
I guess im hysterical as I write this on my phone and just at a loss. I feel completely defeated.

Something similar happened to one of my girlfriends and they tried to get her to take the ring in the store as a temporary measure. She, much like you (and everyone else I’m sure), didn’t want that ring she wanted HER ring for her wedding as that’s the ring that’s blessed and the whole symbolism of it. She stood there in the store and made a huge stink about it. She requested to speak with the manager, she spoke very loudly as there were other customers in the store and all in all, caused a scene. I know that probaly sounds childish, but sometimes its the only way to get what you want. In the end the store promised to have her ring in by the time we left for her destination wedding. Maybe you should cause a big stink over it too. I mean its a very important part of the wedding day and you both want and deserve your ring.
Good luck, I really do hope that everything works out for you.

@TKG83: Thank you for the kind words 🙂
I got my partner to speak with the shop. Apparently the owner is now in surgery, but we have been promised a check with a full refund. For some reason they are unable to do a charge back.
I went to store where my partner got his ring, due to the time im unable to get anything with diamonds as resizing would make them pop out and to order takes 4 weeks.
I found peace with a plain band and I am actually very happy with it.
I think getting a blingy wedding ring just because my family made me feel bad about the size of my engagement ring was the wrong reason to splurge the money.
The lady in the shop was right when she told me its not the size of the ring it is the way it makes you feel. I should have listened to my heart months ago.

@Cheekyduck: I absolutely agree with the lady in the shop. If the ring you chose makes you feel good then thats the one hands down. Besides, if you want a sparkly one its always good for an anniversary gift to make a nice stack. 😉
