@BluePeaches:  a girl was standing next to me on the train had this done!  it looked gross.  like, infected.  i have a few piercings myself but i’d never do this.  not a huge fan of surface piercings.

That first one is beautiful! My only concern with surface piercings is that the body will eventually reject it and with it on your hand, I’m sure it would happen that much faster. If it was permanent, though, I might consider it. Like I said, it’s really pretty.

I would not get a dermal implant as an e-ring, but I like them.

Some cultures/religions forbid jewelry.  Others symbolize “wedlock” in other ways.

So, to each their own.

I’ve been into body modification for about 15 years and those do not look like they will heal. Especially the one on the left. No thanks.

That does not look nice in my opinion. I’m also 99% sure that if I did that, my body would reject it. I have super sensitive skin. To each her own…

My friend has dermal implants (not on her finger), and she’s already had to get one replaced because it caught on something and got infected, and she had to have it removed and then another one inserted about an inch away from where the old one was. I can imagine that if that was done on a hand, it wouldn’t be able to last very long, seeing as it would have contact with all sorts of gross things and you’d have a higher chance of getting it accidently caught/ ripped out.
