So yesterday on a whim, the Mister and I went shopping for wedding rings (well, not quite a whim…we actually had no kids yesterday, and decided to squeeze some wedding things in. Somehow ring shopping with five kids in tow just doesn’t sound like a good time) This was so, so much fun! I can’t believe how much he got into it. I had all these ideas of different bands I’d like, plain milgrain, pave eternity, delicate designs…
He pulled up a chair, and started asking the saleswoman questions. He learned all about diamond quality, precious metals, different settings…he even had a loupe and calipers out at one point. After having me try on so many wedding rings that my finger was swollen up like a sausage, he was madly in love with this ring:
1carat, half eternity, It’s so totally nothing I would have picked out, but it is pretty stunning. I was leaning towards something thinner, 2.5mm width tops, as I really want my solitare to pop. (I think this ring is just about 4mm)
What do you think?

I think it’s an absolutely gorgeous wedding band that looks great with your solitare. BUT you are the one that has to wear it for a very long time and if it’s not exactly what you pictured yourself wearing, then I think you should continue looking until you find one thats perfect.

4mm is a little wider than most, but i don’t think it looks terribly wide, you definately still notice the solitaire that is for sure.
Such a lovely set

The look is definitely growing on me. While I adore the sparkle of a pave band, it wasjust SO uncomfortable for me, and didn’t seem nearly as practical as I need an every-day ring to be.

I dont think that looks perfect actually. It doesnt look too wide at all.

The one I’m getting is pretty much the same ring, but thinner. I imagine he’d still like it if it was a little thinner, and he has to understand comfort/practicality. I think comfort is much more important, especially when you can get the exact same ring in a thinner size and it will look about the same.

I think the set looks great! Your solitaire stands out and I don’t think the bling it too overwhelming.

It’s wider than most but with your solitaire I think it looks great! If you’d be more comfortable with something a little thinner/smaller though, for practically’s sake, I think that would look just as good too.

I think the solitaire is still standing out!! I love the width of the band and all the bling it shows off 🙂 I love it!

Your e-ring is so substantial in size that I think the wedding band looks GREAT with it and really helps to balance it out.
I love it!

I think it look perfect!! the bling and slightly larger width offsets your solitaire well.
