My Fi and I are having our wedding rings made since my e-ring has a slight curve to it. We’ve looked at many bands but none fit the design or curve of my ring. We spoke to a jeweler back in December who agreed to take this task on, but I have to leave my e-ring with him so he can take a mold of it to make my wedding band, and my FI’s wedding band. I’m having a difficult time leaving my ring behind…anyone else experiencing this. It’s almost like I’ll have withdrawals…LOL
Also, if I’m getting married in September, when should I go to start having them made?

I always say that I feel naked if I don’t have my e-ring and wedding ring on. It’s just weird when there’s nothing on your finger when you’re so used to having a ring on 24/7.
I would have them made early enough so that you’ll have them at least a month before the wedding. You want to be sure they’re ready in time!

I haven’t had this isue.. YET.. but it’s coming I think. I haven’t found a band I like and I have a feeling it’s going to be custom in the end. I hate the idea of leaving my ring somewhere!

I had to leave my Engagement Ring with the jeweler when he was designing my wedding band as well and i remember HATING to be without my ring. I actually go get my rings cleaned and replated at Jared (not where we bought them) because they will do it there while I wait and i hate having to leave my rings with my jeweler for days even though it’s free!

A stone fell out of my wedding band, and the jeweler who made it (a close friend) made me a "dummy" ring out of silver to wear while he fixes it – so nice, because I was really sad about not having it for a couple of weeks.

Kurlynut, we’re almost in the exact same boat! I’m getting married in September and I’m having work done on my ring now. I agree that having my ring finger go "naked" feels really weird so I bought myself a CZ ring to wear while I’m without my e-ring. Definitely NOT the same thing but at least I don’t feel so off balance with no ring on.
Another idea is to find a nice, inexpensive gemstone ring that you can maybe switch to your right hand after your e-ring is back from the jeweler’s? 🙂
