It depends on when your vendors need to know your final guest count.  I would find that out first, and then make the RSVP date a few days before that so you have time to follow up with any guests who haven’t RSVPd.

When do your caterers need a final headcount? Make your RSVP date about 2 weeks before that to allow time for stragglers.

I would say a month before your vendors need to know. Some stragglers take more time than others and at least this way you arent rushing.

Give yourself at least a week before your final numbers are due to hunt down those who don’t RSVP. Caterers have different timelines so check your contract for the due date.

We put ours a month out. We wanted time for stragglers plus we need to give headcounts to our vendors 2 weeks in advance. That way we have about 2 weeks to call people who haven’t RSVP’d and wait for the last few to trickle into our mailbox.

I’m also getting married on a 28th (July). Our RSVP date is June 15th. We need a final headcount by June 28th, giving us just shy of 2 weeks to contact people who didn’t respond in time. I also like that the 15th is a nice number. So I’d do September 15th unless you don’t need a final headcount as early as our caterer does.

Ours was 1 month before our wedding and one week before our caterer needed our final head count.

That’s my wedding date too!! Hello wedding date buddy! Yeah, I think I’ll be doing mine a month before the wedding. When are you mailing out your wedding invitations?

Two or three weeks, depending on when you need final numbers to vendors.

Dont do it any earlier (unless absolutely necessary) because people may not be able to give an accurate rsvp.

Where I live 6 weeks is acceptable though some people here think that’s too far. I’d do 4-6 weeks before the wedding.

i put our RSVP date 1 week before caterer needed to know numbers.  our catered needed to know number 1 week in advance.  so the date was 2 weeks before the wedding. it was plenty of time to track down those that didn’t respond.

We had our RSVP date one month before our wedding.  Our venders needed final number 10 days before the wedding, and we wanted a couple weeks to be able to track people down that didn’t RSVP.
