So my mother emails me b/c we were trying to figure out the hours we wanted to hire the photographer for. We came down to four hours, including one hour beforehand to cover my getting ready in the hotel & my arrival, etc. So 5-9, as the wedding starts at 6pm.
Well, she mentioned by that time the cake will be cut, family pictures taken, bouquet tossed & first dance would have occured. Then I got to thinking – seriously?
Well here’s a draft schedule I had considered – ceremony starting promptly at 6:15pm ( I will have to make a separate set of invites for my Cuban family saying 5:30, instead of 6pm, so they can get there at a decent time LOL)
Celebratory moment, family pictures and then cocktail from 7-8
I guess cake cutting thereafter & then dinner (after 8pm)It’s only 75 guests, so I dont think it will all take to long.
So we can get the party started around 9pm with the live band in the courtyard area & have the cigar roller going, etc. We have the venue for four hours from the end of the ceremony – so till 11pm.
Is there any standard etiquette to carrying out the wedding schedule? Im thinking is this all really sufficient time to get all this done & still enjoy our wedding?
Im not too fond of first dance or tossing the bouquet (so I am doing that towards the end of the night) b/c well at least for my wedding I think they are a bit tacky & being this an intimate wedding – do we really have to put on a freakin show for people LOL
So what are your wedding schedules looking like – and do you guys think I should move my photographer to 5:30 – 9:30pm – so I get more coverage of the event?
