Hi fellow weddingbees,
My fiance set a wedding date of April 28th, but so far I’ve been paralyzed in making any wedding plans!!! Know if may seem strange, but I have no idea where to start. It all seems so overwhelming. So far I have brought some bridal magazines and Fiance is looking at apartments, but it seems like we should be doing alot more. I believe we are just stuck and not know which direction to go. Can anyone give me some advice as to what focus on initially to get the ball rolling? Thanks you any and all assistance.

@NitaCircle:No date is cemented unless you have your venue! – That was one of the first things we did!

all I can say is Venue Venue Venue. Just like jude7186 said your date will not be set til you get Venue

I agree! You are at the mercy of the Venue you want when it comes to dates! I thought I was ahead of the game when I started a year in advance (my date is August 3rd I started in July) but there were barely any dates left when I went to book the Venue I wanted. Especially Saturdays. Unless you’re having your wedding in a back yard or something! I would definitely start figuring out where you want to have your Wedding and find out which dates they have open.
Good luck! I hope you get the date you want

@NitaCircle: Venue first! We picked our date based on when the venue was available. We were more than a year out and the venue had limited dates left!!
After the venue we did caterer, photographer, and flowers/dj. Everything falls into place after that 🙂

Like the PPs said, venue comes first. You are at their mercy and your date may change if you really want that venue. Everything gets easier once you have a firm date (by booking your venue). That was the biggest hurdles/roadblocks for me and Fiance. Once we secured the venue (the date) booking other vendors has been so much easier!
