  • poll: What do you prefer/have?

Matching wedding set (bought e-ring and band together)

Unique e-ring and unique wedding band (non-matching, not possible to solder)

Soldered rings (may or may not match)

Separate rings (may or may not match, but not soldered)

I only have one ring (after the wedding)!

    Other (please explain)

@RayKay:  I didnt know that actually! I thought I read somewhere on here that it can mess up your rings if you try to unssolder them but my mind could be making that up.

I have a matching set and they are not soldered together. My rings have diamonds on all 3 sides, so if I were to solder it would ruin the diamonds on one side of my engagement ring and one side of my band.

My rings are not a set, and they are not soldered. I thought about getting them soldered, but I decided against it because I want to be able to just wear my wedding band.

I have my grandmother’s original engagement ring and wedding band that were sold as a set in the early 50’s.  She always had them soldered but when we were going to get married, she had them unsoldered for us so he could propose.  Our jeweler just told me this past weekend that she highly recommends that I get the soldered after the wedding due to the age of them.

I have a diamond eternity band for a wedding ring and I love that sometimes I can just wear that. Esp in the winter my engagement ring is difficult with gloves.

Mine are soldered because of the curved band… otherwise they spin and look awkward

My rings match, but were not bought as a set. They’re also not soldered. I don’t always wear my ering so I like the option of wearing just my wedding band alone.

coordinated set (straight version of the contour band that usually is sold with the e-ring.  I didn’t want them soldered, however the milgrain and side pave prongs were being worn down from rubbing, so I had them soldered around my 1st anniversary..

If I got to choose all over again, knowing what I do now, I probably would have chosen something with smooth, plain sides, so that I didn’t have to solder the rings together.

I have a not matching set (though style and shape wise they fit perfectly) that is not currently soldered. I may eventually get them soldered, if only because my half eternity wedding band spins and I have to adjust it during the day.

Mine are not a matching set, but were purchased from the same store (at different times). I will have them soldered closer to the wedding.

Mine are a set, and not soldered. The wedding ring has a groove in it that the e-ring sits in, so it doesn’t spin. Otherwise I would have had them soldered probably.

I wasn’t sure how to respond on the poll.

My fiance custom designed my e-ring and so we had my band custom designed as well.  It isn’t a complete circle (there is a space in it so that it stops on either side of my center stone.  Because of that, I know that I will never wear it alone….which means there is no reason not to have it soldered when I get married!  🙂
