I previously posted that I wanted to take on a DIY project and “strass” a pair of plain white shoes. Part of our wedding theme is sparkle and crystals, and I want them right down to the shoe! Problem is, I have champagne taste on a beer budget! I recently saw a picture of these Benjamin Adam’s Charlize pumps and fell in love with them. Not sure if I love the price tag though: $399. I could do it, but I’m afraid I would feel a massive amount of guilt afterward. I am torn between buying these and making my own. What if I make them and they don’t turn out right? I need opinions! Do you think these shoes are worth it, or should I make my own?

If you would feel badly after, then do your own. You could take a plain satin pump and add the glam yourself. There have been previous posts about this.
You can get a similar look for much less -these are from http://www.endless.com

I LOVE those shoes too, but I would never spend that much….So I searched and searched and searched some more till I found these at Nordstrom for $80

The shoes are gorgeous!! I’d do what some of the PP have suggested and look around for a similar shoe that isn’t as expensive. I thought about that style of shoes before and there are quite a few brands that make shoes with that look!

I’m torn because those Benjamin’s are beautiful! But if cost is an issue and you can’t bring yourself to get those, I do love the Enzo’s posted above from Nordstrom. You should definitely check those out!

I just bought these shoes for my wedding – we got 10% off by buying them through the shop where I bought my dress. I had considered doing my own, but between purchasing the shoes and several thousand crystals, it was coming out to be about the same amount of money.
I obviously love these shoes – so I say go for it. You need the crystals to get that effect, I don’t think glitter has the same sparkle to it.

what about steve madden caryssag?

I say go for it, I was tempted by very similar ones from Gina but they were 3 times the price. After doing a bit of research I think for the quality and the amount of sparkle the BMs are good value. I guess it depends on your budget though.

I actually found the perfect pair to strass on my own. Just ordered all the crystals and materials. I am so excited!
