Hello bees! How is your morning? I would just like to say that I love waking up engaged everday! lol
So here’s my problem. My Fiance and I are teh same height…exactly. I really don’t mind at all but he’s still going through that stage where it bothers him when I’m taller than him in heels. So I’ve been looking for flats for the wedding.
That’s not the dilemma oh no….this is the dilemma:
I don’t want ballerina flats…I don’t want flip flops.. What is left??? N.O.T.H.I.N.G.
Now I know this is an exaggeration because there’s about 5 million different styles of shoes but its my wedding so of course I can exagerate anything that I want!
This is where you all come in. Do you have any suggestions about something in between.
Maybe a not as over the top gladiator type sandal? It’s like I have the shoe in my mind but it doesn’t want to appear in front of my face.

What about something like this?

Can he wear some lifts or something so you can get a pair of shoes you don’t hate? I told Fiance that I’m wearing heels and I’ll be taller than him and he said he’s considering getting shoes with lifts to sort of balance it out. Neither of us are tall people and it won’t be THAT exaggerated but I think he’s a little self-conscious about it LOL.

What does your dress look like?

All women should be placed on a pedestal!

I am actually taller than my fiance in bare feet so I am not going to be wearing heels because it would make the difference even more exaggerated. It took me a very long time to find flats that I liked: pink, open toe, unique. I finally found these at JC Penny of all places:

LilyFaith–you just made me want those really badly, but I already splurged on my dress so I can’t go out and buy Louboutins now! Lol.
As for the original poster: Where what makes you happy. Period. It may mean you are taller, it may mean you aren’t. This is YOUR DAY.

I’m not against any shoes! I love those LilyFaith!
He’s pretty concious about it and I love wearing flats so that’s no big deal. I was just looking for something that when I walked didn’t look like slippers. You know what I mean? That kind of had the appearance of heel sandals but we’ren’t really.
Thanks for the help so far guys!

Oh and this is my dress
pink sash and all. This particular dress has a chapel train but I’m special ordering it without the train since it will be a outside wedding.

check out myshoes.com they allow you to choose exactly what you want! I am in love with the site…..
Also I have the same problem as far as being the exact same height a friend who is also one of my bm’s informed me that if I find a shoe with a high heel I can take it to a shoeperson (not sure of the exact terminology) and they can take it down for around $5/shoe so that is an option too. So now that I have that info I am looking at all types of heel height and that doesn’t limit my options, because in the back of my mind I can get them cut down to whatever height I would like! Hope this helps 🙂

Ooooh, I love a good shoe search. I googled and these came up… they’re actually from Kmart, but I thought they looked pretty cute. And you can’t beat the price, $14.99

Oh, and on a side note… I don’t think that you can get any heel height cut down to a flat as a pp mentioned. The sole of the shoe is shaped in a way where it wouldn’t lay flat against the ground. You’d have to walk on your tip toes with no support at the heel. I think most heeled shoes can be modified to a certain extent, but not to the point where you can just chop the whole heel off.
