So after much searching and shopping, I FINALLY found a pair of low-heeled, blush colored wedding shoes. They’re gorgeous and I love them! I was looking for something no more than really 2.5″ b/c my dress is pretty perfect as is and I don’t want to have to hem it. Then I remembered I have cowboy boots I wanted to wear for some pictures and maybe part of the reception.
Do you think there’s too much of a contrast between my “formal” shoes and my boots? Should I change my jewelry to make my look more casual? I’m aware these are totally unimportant questions, I just want to see what people think. I’m absolutely terrible at accessorizing, I have no eye for it. Thanks!!

BurlapnLace: personally, I’d say if you want to wear your boots all day then ROCK IT!! Though I’m utterly biased – I’m going to be wearing converse! ha! But no I don’t think you need to accessorize to match your boots or make anything look any more ‘casual’ I think just changing into the boots would be great

I don’t think you have to change your jewelry etc. to make your look more casual. IMO the boots don’t match the formality of the gown, so no amount of changing other things is going to make a difference. The ‘cuteness/uniqueness’ of the photos of the dress and boots is the contrast between them.
ETA: gorgeous dress!

I’m not really a fan of wearing boots, converse, etc with a wedding gown. If there’s one day in our life when we should put a bit of effort into dressing up, our wedding day would be it for me.
If you do want to wear the boots, rather than change the jewelry, I would pink boots that had some pink detailing so they coordinated more with your dress.

I don’t think you need to change accessories! I think the fun about wearing cowboy boots is that they’re unexpected and in contrast with the whole wedding outfit (meaning dress + accessories). If I were you, I’d wear the boots all day! I wore yellow crochet flats and I am *so* glad that I did. They were comfy and everyone loved the little flash of yellow when I walked.

Sparkidoodle: I wanted to have some “formal” pictures and the more casual hoe down type feel for the candids. You’re right though, I just didn’t want to look mismatched, I have a tendency to do that!
emstar168: Thank you, I really think the lace over the boots will look very rustic and vintage 🙂
LaurenKK: That sounds adorable! I don’t even have my accessories yet, so I’ll keep in mind to try and match both looks.

BurlapnLace: I’m changing form platform heels to blinged out Converse for the reception I don’t think changing jewerly is necessary. I’m only changing my necklace as a surprise to my Fiance….I ordered a silver Monogram necklace with my new initials to wear durign the reception!!

FutureMrsHouy: OMG I almost thought of doing that! I actually got one in rose gold…I don’t really like it though b/c the initalis are illegible (what did I expect, it was from groupon!!) but that might not be a bad compromise!!
