Here are some pictures from the wedding shower that my best friend and I hosted for my future daughter in law. We didn’t really have a theme, we just wanted it to be very feminine and bridally! I hope the pictures aren’t too big.
These first few pix are of the cakes. There was a main cake with a gorgeous wedding dress and it was surrounded by little bridesmaid cupcakes.
The colors were blush, white, and a soft green. The tables were set with shimmery green floor length linens and chair ties, white sheer embroidered table toppers and blush napkins. It was a hot day so we placed a fan at each place setting. The small purses at each place setting held the guest favors–two cookies–a bride and a groom!
The patio was decorated with floating bubbles and chandeliers. It was seriously so pretty and I have to give kudos to my husband and my BFFs hubby because they hung them up.
For appetizers we served caprese salad and shrimp cocktail. We had 40 individual servings set for the guests.
And last but not least–we had a panty line! This was so much fun. Each guest brought a pair of panties for my FDIL and I had a list of questions like which pair will be the groom’s favorite, and which pair will you use as a slingshot to knock out the gopher in the backyard. The person whose pair she picked in response to the question got a prize. I had about 10 questions and we played this game all throughout the shower. When someone’s pair was picked they got their prize and a little crystal bell. They could ring the bell anytime during the shower and ask the next question. Then the bell moved to the next winner. It was a fun way to involve the guests and sometimes when someone waited more than about 10-15 minutes to ring the bell, another guest would start a panty chant to remind her. And the bride got 40 new pairs of panties!
