My bridesmaids threw me a beautiful wedding shower….I was so happy until they told me the gift theme was jewelry. I have never heard this theme b4 but yes, I recieved 15 pieces of jewelry, that most likley I will NEVER wear. Some people said this jewelry was recommended by a website….I DONT CARE WHAT A WEBSITE RECOMMENDS.
Anyways this is what I got for my wedding shower (below)…..I really needed some household stuff…I dont know what my bridesmaids were thinking
these are just a few examples…I wonder how returnable these are

Are all of these pieces from different stores? I saw that the starfish was from JC Penney, maybe you can track down your gifts on this website, find the stores they were sourced from and contact each one? It’s the only thing I can think of aside from emailing this website about returns? I’m sorry your bridesmaids were SO off-base! 🙁

Oh no…were they thinking this idea would be cute and chic? I usually try to shy away from things like this unless the bride requests. Maybe you could see if they’re returnable to the website. Yikes…so sorry they were way off base!

Why is there a link to that website in all of your posts?

@Jacqi- I think Vkerry is trying to promote that particular website.. I looked through her posts too and every single one is about jewelry and she always links to that site! You’ve got a good eye!

That’s very strange. I can see doing that for an older or encore bride with an established household, but not for someone who really needs household items. Taste in jewelry is so personal and individual; it’s really hard to give jewelry gifts to people unless you know them very well.
It’s awkward to return gifts from friends, but silly to keep jewelry you’ll never wear. Can you tell them nicely, without hurting their feelings, that you might want to return some of it to get some household necessities?
I notice your wedding isn’t until December. Why did they have your shower so early? Will you have another closer to the date? If not, just make a really thorough wedding registry and hope for the best!

Weird.. never heard of anything like this.. h ope you are able to return!

Good catch Jacqi — this is one of the more sophisticated marketing ploys I’ve seen on here. Usually spammers just talk about how great their site is…but to actually make up stories about a wedding and throw in links to this site everywhere? That is ridiculous.

We’ll remove all the links shortly, but maybe keep the threads up… as a warning to other spamming promoters (as if it will make a difference ha).
I checked the IP and it’s not tied to another account… at least there’s that. I’d hate to think a fellow bee would do this to the hive!

Well, if she isn’t a promoter, than hate to say it, but you are being ungreatful! You will probably get house stuff at your wedding. Its a nice idea to have people bring jewelry to help you get a nice selection.

OMG, that is ridiculous and hilarious.
I actually have to commend them for taking the time to write posts where the jewelry links make sense. Hahaha!

GHAHAHAHAHAHHA agree with dana, i read this post earlier and didn’t really know what to respond… and came back with something encouraging to say about having all that jewelry… LOL, mr. bee – you should def cut the links out…

@dana – I agree! It’s kind of clever!

Oooh! I got sucked in! I even went to the website! I feel so used! Now I know… harsh lesson for a “Newbie”! 🙁
