I’m so frustrated. My Maid/Matron of Honor is a sweetie and I love her, but she lives in NYC, so my mother an I have been helping out with the shower details as much as possible. We’ve set a date, but have a Problem: We need a place to have a shower for 25 people. Our home is too small, relatives generally in the same boat. Town Community rooms can’t be reserved because we’re not a non profit organizaiton. And EVERY hotel and Bed and Breakfast (trust me, I’ve called them all) is booked because we live next door to the Mormon Hill Cumorah Pageant. I’m at my wits end. Any creative ideas? Do you think it would be too hot to have it at a Park?

Local theater? Art Museum? Church social hall or meeting room? Local college with rooms?

Mmm. Good possibility. I think I’ve been to one fairly recently, too. I’ve just called my church, and think I’ll do a little research on that in the meantime while I’m waiting to hear back. Thanks!

I went to a shower in a park once and it was fine, if a bit casual. It was in a shelter with picnic tables. The heat is no big deal as long as you have cold drinks! You might not be able to have alcohol though.
The other venue suggestions are all great too. 25 shouldn’t be too hard to accomodate in one of them.

Bingo! The local library allows you to have showers in their downstairs community room. Thank you for helping me think outside the box, everyone! This wedding has been interesting. I love my groom and can’t Wait to marry him…but the plans have had me in tears many times. There always seems to be something to trip you up. I know it will all work out. I just can’t wait for October to get here so the planning part is over!
