Since photobooths are so popular right now, offering that might be a good idea!  It would be more convenient to only have to deal with one vendor versus 2 separate ones.  Also, I think packages that include a free/cheaper album, photo canvas, large print, guest book, or engagement pictures may draw people in.  Just some ideas..

@trendyphotoshots:  If you’d offer a deal with an engagement session I’d totally be into that and maybe would others.  I think anything you can do offer a package (less work for the bride to coordinate!) or make the planning process easier would really be appreciated.  If you want to get lots of traffic (and possibly more busniess) set up a quick backdrop and offer to take a sample pic for the bride to take with her (you can charge a small fee or give it for free), but make sure to mark it with your logo and info (so she can contact you!).  I don’t know if it would work out well, but it would be a great way to set you apart.

@trendyphotoshots:  I found my photographer at a wedding show and granted he is new and building his business he offered for anyone who booked him THAT DAY to have full day coverage, two photographers for $600.  We ended up added other items to the deal to make up $1100.  But that is still super cheap.  I would say create a super awesome deal for the people that book you that day and a deal for others that call you within a week of the event.  So maybe $500 off for booking that day and $200 off for booking you within a week.

Offering a free engagement session (or other sessions such as bridal portraits) is really nice.

Offering a discount on photobooths is also a good idea since those are pretty popular right now.

I’d love the photobooth offer!  We won our engagement pictures with another photographer so we don’t need an engagement session, but the inclusion of the photobooth would be awesome!

I’d be wary of the photographer/photobooth — just because I’d want to make sure that the photographer was focused on the reception.  If you go that route, I’d try to make it very clear that it would be fully-staffed.  Also, one hour doesn’t seem like a lot of time, and I’d be afraid that you’d try to upsell me into additional hours. I’d try to present it as one free hour for the photobooth, rather than a free photobooth, so people know that they have the option of additional hours (though it’s not a requirement).  I like the idea of the engagement shoot, or a decent discount off of it.  I am actually having a photobooth, so I do think it’s also a great idea if it’s presented in the right way.
