Ok, I am seriously in love with the signs over at the chocolate butter bean. Problem is that our budged does not includ $500.00 for a sign. I am pretty darn crafty and have been thinking of try to make my own sign. Has anyone out there made an attempt at one of these?

I haven’t but it doesn;t look very difficult to make. As long as you have some knowledge of a graphics program

Along these lines, I’m going to be putting our invitation design on two cornhole boards. I plan on using an overhead projector to get the design on the boards so I can trace it and then paint it.
Maybe that would work?

ooo…projector might be a good place to start. No idea where I would find one of the old school ones. they weight a ton so it is nothing I would want to pay shipping on!

I’m going to borrow a little LCD projector from work. They’re about the size of a hardcover book. 🙂

The only projectors i remember are the ones that are about the size on a baby elephant and with about the same…showing my age….
All of the butter bean signs seem to have a very similar theme. The calagraphic script with some graphic details here and there. I am not sure what paint would be best to get that crisp effect or if it has more to do with the brush technique. I am also no artist, so it would have to be something I could cheat.
I had thought that it might even be best to try and decoupage but I was worrried that it might be very difficult to keep a seamless looking script. The last thing I want is it coming out looking like a randsome note…
