- Wedding: July 2013
I know there are a zillion posts like this, but I could use some feedback from experienced bees. We were hoping for a wedding size of 180. Our venue and church will fit 185 upstairs, but can fit 225 if kids eat downstairs (with baby sitters) We can afford 225, but we would prefer not to force kids downstairs.
Right now there are 230 on the guest list. This includes 40 kids/teenagers, 20 placeholders for +1s, and 16 co-workers (they aren’t getting a save the date and we can cut there). About 30% are close family, 35% live within an hour, 15% are within a days drive and 20% would have to fly.
My questions for the hive: would you bring your child to a wedding (full catholic mass and dinner reception)? Would having a babysitter there change your opinion? Would you be okay with your kids (5-10 years old) sitting downstairs?
Oh, and to answer the obvious, we can’t book a bigger venue or cut the guest list. Everyone has gotten an email save the date to get their addresses.
