I’d just add “Private Wedding/Elopement”: 0 guests (not including witnesses), because I feel like a wedding with no guests and even a wedding with 10 guests are going to have entirely different atmospheres.

I think intimate wedding is 30 people or less and small wedding 50 to 100 and medium is 150 to 200 guests and large is 250-300 and huge is 300+

@jenilynevette:  we’re having about 125 people… which we consider kinda average

I consider mine on the smaller side with hopefully 90. BUT I think “intimate” and “small” are somewhat interchangable. I think if I have 90 people and it’s ONLY aunts, uncles, and cousins (and spouses), then that might not be one person’s small, but I would argue that it is definitely intimate, meaning only people truly close to you/lifelong relationships.

Ours is about 125 guests and I’ve considered that to be more medium size. Especially with some people having up to 300 or 400 guests

We’re having about 350 guests, which I would consider medium-slightly large.

I’d say:

Intimate Sized Wedding 0-25. (small enough that you really have time to spend with every single person.)

Small Sized Wedding 26-100 (Still smaller than average, probably still include painful guest list cuts type of wedding. This is shifting, though, as the wedding trend seems to be swinging more toward the side of “save money invite fewer people.” Soon, I bet 80 and 90 person weddings will be closer to average.)

Medium Sized Wedding 101-150 (Average weddings)

Large Sized Wedding 151-200 (Above average size, invite-everyone-you-love type weddings)

Very Large Sized Wedding 201-300 (Invite-everyone-you-love-and-also-some-family-friends-you-don’t-know-that-well type fo weddings)

Extravagent Sized Wedding 301+. (Who knows this many people? Especially considering 300 guests probably means 400 invitations went out!)

I think demographics play a large part in this kind of question, much like “ring size” threads.

I had 100 guests at my Chicagoland wedding and that was pretty darn small by most area standards.

My thoughts are:

intimate- 75 or less

small- 76-125

medium- 126-175

large- 176- 225

very large- 226-275

extravagant- 276- 300+

I mean, our wedding is 95 people, and I feel like that’s massive. Is it really compared to other weddings? No.
