@weddingbee2be2020:  We had a string quartet play Ave Maria as our families and maid of honor walked down the aisle, the quartet then played here comes the sun when I walked down and when the ceremony was over, the DJ played Happy. We also walked into our dining room as husband and wife to some Star Wars song ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿป‍โ™€๏ธ

We had lots of nerdy/pop culture sorts of things ๐Ÿ™‚ Our parents walked down the aisle to a piano version of a song from Legend of Zelda (hubby’s favorite video game), the wedding party walked in to a string version of Glycerine by Bush (one of my husband’s favorite songs!), I walked down to a string version of the theme from Beauty and the Beast (my favorite movie), we walked back up the aisle to Starlight by Muse (my favorite band), and we entered the reception to the Game of Thrones theme song (which then transitioned into another Muse song so we could rock out a little ๐Ÿ˜‚)

VERY non-traditional but it worked for us and made our day feel very personal! ๐Ÿ™‚

Use songs you love that make you happy! The groomsmen and parents walked in to a string version of The Rainbow Connection, bridesmaids walked to the Vitamin String Quartet version of Somebody to Love by Queen. My husband walked down to the Imperial March, and I walked down to the VSQ version of Seasons of Love from Rent, my favorite musical. We exited to Forever by Chris Brown since we are big fans of The Office, and we entered the reception to a disco version of the Star Wars theme and had a lightsaber fight. None of it was typical, but it was all stuff we love that represents us!

We had a string trio for the ceremony. Our songs were:

Handel’s Hornpipe (bridesmaids walking in)

Pachelbel’s Canon (me walking in)

Adele Make You Feel My Love and Coldplay’s Viva La Vida (signing the register)

Beatles All you need is love (walking out)

The fun part about the music is that you can make it totally unique to you as a couple! My husband and I are Disney fans (mostly me haha).

As the guests were seated we had instrumental Disney music playing. I walked down the aisle to a piano version of I See the Light from the movie Tangled and we walked back up the aisle to the chorus of Happily Ever After which is the song that they play during the castle firework show at Disney World.

For us, it was subtle touches of Disney that we loved and most of the guests didn’t even realize that they were listening to “Disney” music.

We wanted traditional/elegant music and had our string quartet play:
– Suite No 1 in G Major Prelude by Bach for family and wedding party entrance

– Canon in D by Pachelbel for the bride entrance

– Wedding March by Mendelssohn for the exit

We’re fairly untraditional and wanted something that felt like “us”.

We had our string quarter playing instrumental ABBA songs for the processional and recessional.  “Take a Chance on Me” and “Dancing Queen”, respectively.

On the recessional, several of our guests spontaneously started singing along, which wound up being one of my favorite parts of the day/memories.

Also, we ran into the reception room to the “Come on Down!” music for The Price is Right, because my husband was on the show last year!

I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of Colbie Caillat’s “Lucky” which is the song that was playing when my husband proposed.

We walked back down the aisle to “I Love You will Still Sound the Same” by Oh Honey

We used “On Top of the World” by Imagine Dragons as our entrance to the reception.

We signed the wedding license right after the ceremony not during so no song for that.

I’m excited to use “I Love You More Today Than Yesterday” for our recessional as man and wife. I love the horns and the lyrics.
