I think the most beautiful love song on earth is Gorecki by Lamb:
I really love this song, to me it just says what I want to say to my fiance and I really want to use it in my wedding, probably as the first dance. When I listen to it I get all floaty and romantic lol.
Here’s the dilemma:
Two friends of mine got married 10years ago, they had a string quartet and a singer sing THIS SONG as their entrance song! It was much talked about at the time and they often referred to it afterwards as ‘their’ wedding song. About 3 years ago they broke up, it was messy at first but they are back on speaking terms now.
All of this would not be such a big deal but they are both coming to the wedding. Would having this song in my wedding be a big no no? I would be using it differently then they did. Can they really now be the only ones that can use this song?
My fiance thinks that I should talk to my friend and ask first how she would feel. I can do this but I imagine she would feel obligated to say it is ok even if it is not.
Just go for it girl! She doesn’t have a copyright on it! Plus that was 10 years ago and if you have it as a first dance that’s different than an entrance song. No one will remember but you and her I’m sure. If it would make you feel better just say something to her, and mention that imitation is the highest compliment or something if she complains.
Thanks Bee’s I have spent hours searching for another song, I have gone through all of Lambs other albums and listened to other love songs and there is nothing else that gives me that ‘omg I want to get married to this’ feeling.
