I think it’ll be okay. They shouldn’t be mad at you for using it. They don’t own the rights to the song. And it’s not like you’re using it to somehow hurt them. 

Maybe it will them make feel sentimental and remember why they married in the first place, thereby renewing their love (woulnd’t that be nice?).

Bottom line, it’s your wedding and you do want will make you happy. No one else besides that couple would remember it I’m sure.

Just go for it girl! She doesn’t have a copyright on it! Plus that was 10 years ago and if you have it as a first dance that’s different than an entrance song. No one will remember but you and her I’m sure. If it would make you feel better just say something to her, and mention that imitation is the highest compliment or something if she complains.

think about all the people that get married and divorced and used Canon in D and yet its still one of the most used pieces of music – i say use it, dont ask and enjoy
