We just got married on August 25 (yay!!!) and didn’t do the following:

  • no limo/fancy car
  • no programs
  • no flower petal/rice/etc. toss
  • no bridal party dance (just him and i, and me and my dad)
  • no garter/bouquet toss
  • no seating chart
  • no menu cards
  • no favors (we donated that money to a local charities)

I wouldn’t have changed one single thing!  We had a beautiful wedding that was very “US”! =)

@S2013:  I had a question about how you are having a first dance but no other dancing. My cousin did this and everyone found it insanely awkward how they were able to do a nice slow dance (she also had a father daughter/mother son dance) but then nobody else was able to. I guess we all thought that it would be nice to be able to dance to at least slow songs. idk..i guess that I see if you aren’t big into dancing then why even do a first dance? just my opinion of course. I’m not close enough to my cousin to ask why she did this.

As of now, we won’t have:

  • menus (you get what you get and you don’t upset)
  • programs (what the hell, if you can’t follow along during our 30-40 min ceremony..then um…why are you there)
  • veil (I’m leaning towards a birdcage)
  • no flowergirl
  • no ringbearer
  • no limo
  • no engagement party
  • no videographer
  • no liquor (beer & wine only)
  • no prayers or religious injections
  • no seating chart (I’m hoping for a group of approx 40 of family & friends sit wherever you like)
  • garter/bouquet toss
  • Im debating on even having favors

Wow..that is a long list.
